- One of the most famous pass plays of all
- time is known as the "Immaculate
- Reception." It came on the final play of a
- 1972 AFC playoff game between the Pitts-
- burgh Steelers and the Oakland Raiders.
- With 22 seconds on the clock and Oakland
- leading, 7-6, the Steelers faced a fourth
- down on their own 40-yard line. Terry
- Bradshaw fired a pass to running back John
- "Frenchy" Fuqua. The ball and RaidersΓÇÖ
- defensive back Jack Tatum reached Frenchy
- at the same time. The ball bounced off Jack.
- While the ball was still in the air, Steeler
- running back Franco Harris grabbed it.
- Without breaking stride, Franco ran for a
- touchdown. The Steelers won, 13-7.
